Become Involved
Black Swan creates exceptional theatre for West Australians, but we can’t rely on ticket sales alone.
The price of a ticket only covers 30% of the cost of creating great theatre, which is why we count on your generous support to tell our unique stories.
We celebrate our donors with unique and memorable opportunities to become involved with the Company. When you make a gift to Black Swan, you are invited to meet other supporters and engage with artists, performances, backstage tours, rehearsals and events.
SUPPORT INITIATIVES
Our communities are strengthened by telling and hearing our own stories. With your support, Black Swan commissions and develops new work.
New works take time and investment and, without the generous support of our donor community, commissioning writers to create new WA plays would not be possible.
Help create opportunities for artists. We identify, develop, and support the deep pool of creative talent that exists here in WA.
Providing professional pathways for WA artists (high-potential directors, designers, artists and actors) is critical to Black Swan's creative agenda. With your support we can continue to facilitate programs which identify, nurture and support Western Australia’s brightest creative artists.
Encourage the next generation to discover their place in the arts and their lifelong love of theatre.
Black Swan’s Creative Learning Program provides enriching learning experiences for students, teachers, and the wider community. We are committed to reducing financial and geographic barriers for students and teachers to access our Creative Learning programs.
Your donation can ensure access to the magic of theatre for all young people, regardless of circumstance.
Our aim is to embed theatre in the lives of all, across our vast state. Great theatre should be for everyone, for all communities large and small.
As a state theatre company, Black Swan prioritises taking our world-class productions and workshop to regional and remote locations in Western Australia.
Giving Circles
Black Swan is supported by giving circles of donors who together nurture our productions and emerging talent.
Our giving circles are social, philanthropic collectives of theatre lovers who are able to share their passion with other like-minded people. Each group enjoys unique and personalised opportunities to engage with our program, both on and off the stage.
To register your interest in joining our giving circles; please contact Virginia Withers, Head of Philanthropy on (08) 6212 9300 or v.withers@blackswantheatre.com.au.
White Swans Giving Circle
For over a decade, the White Swans have generously supported outstanding performances produced by Black Swan.
“A thriving local arts scene is so important for making Perth a great place to live, for ourselves, for our children, and for the wider Perth community. We’re so proud to be part of the White Swans and play a part in bringing WA stories and new talent to the stage. Being part of the White Swans Giving Circle means we can connect with friends old and new over theatre, celebrate at Opening Nights together and enjoy unique behind-the-scene opportunities to see how the productions come together”.
Mimi Packer, Natasha Taylor & Jane Miels (White Swans Coordinators)
Leave a Legacy
Legacy Leaders are visionary supporters who have left a gift to Black Swan in their will. A bequest is one of the most meaningful ways to contribute to Black Swan’s future, so that generations to come can revel in the same joy of theatre and share their own stories.
Legacy Leaders can give a gift that is invested in Black Swan’s Future Fund to provide ongoing support to Black Swan for years to come, or specify a project you would like to support.
Legacy Leaders are honoured and acknowledged in the present for their visionary support in the future. We can work with you to realise your vision of how your gift will carry on your legacy when you are no longer with us. For more information or for a confidential discussion about your plans, please contact Virginia Withers, Head of Philanthropy on (08) 6212 9300 or v.withers@blackswantheatre.com.au.
