Performance Workshops

Each year Black Swan Theatre hosts performance workshops for emerging and established artists. These workshops are a great way to flex your creative muscles, refine skills and explore diverse approaches to text, devising, voice and physical theatre.

The Power of Archetypes

A practical workshop which aims to empower the actor by learning how to identify archetypes within scripts to enhance audition technique and character work.

Date: Saturday 18 May

Time: 10.00am – 2.30pm

Venue: State Theatre Centre of WA (Rehearsal Room 1)

Fee: $150.00

Facilitator: Asha Cornelia Cluer draws on her training at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School, extensive industry experience as an actor in London’s West End, and as a regular facilitator for top UK drama schools, to inspire actors to shape their creative potential.

Multiform Devising

Whether you are a solo performer or thrive in a group dynamic, multiform devising is a dynamic and flexible approach to creating original work. This workshop actively explores contemporary devising techniques ranging from physical, text and object manipulation / puppetry.

Facilitator: Nigel Luck, is a theatre artist and director who has extensive experience training actors at Universities and Drama schools in the UK and Australia. Specialising in physical theatre, puppetry and experimental devising processes, Nigel’s workshops are highly engaging and active, offering multiple exercises to use in the classroom.
