A Room with a View

E. M. FORSTER’S CLASSIC TALE OF LIVING BOLDLY, TOGETHER

Lucy Honeychurch could follow the path set out for her and her life would be easy. But she is torn between the comfort of convention and the allure of the unknown.

While holidaying in Florence with her highly strung cousin Charlotte Bartlett, Lucy’s carefully ordered world is cracked open by the city’s beauty – and by George Emerson. His raw honesty challenges Lucy in ways she doesn’t expect, sparking a connection that follows her all the way home.

Back in England, Lucy is faced with a choice: follow the life laid out for her or listen to the voice inside that dares her to want more. Will she stay safe with her slightly underwhelming fiancé Cecil? Or will Lucy find a new room, and a new view?

Immortalised in the 1985 Merchant Ivory film, A Room with a View has long been cherished for its timeless portrayal of love and sexual awakening. Western Australian raised Playwright Grace Chapple and Director Hannah Goodwin deliver a mischievous interpretation for a new era.
