Fortescue extends Partnership

We're thrilled to announce that Fortescue are proudly renewing their Principal Partnership for an additional two years, with increased support. By the end of 2026, Fortescue’s cumulative contributions to Black Swan will surpass $2.5 million, underscoring their shared dedication to enriching Western Australia’s cultural landscape.
Since the partnership began in 2020, Fortescue’s support has enabled Black Swan to deliver exceptional theatre experiences and expand creative opportunities across WA. This renewed partnership will continue to enhance access and participation in the arts, with programs designed to engage new audiences and serve regional communities. It will also strengthen the creative economy by developing the capacity of WA’s theatre sector, while showcasing compelling local stories that reflect and celebrate Western Australia’s unique culture. Additionally, the partnership will uplift and empower First Nations voices and provide opportunities to share stories that highlight WA's rich and diverse cultural heritage.

“We are incredibly thankful for Fortescue’s leadership in supporting the arts. This Principal Partnership underpins all the work we do, enabling us to nurture West Australian artists, develop stories that reflect our vibrant culture, and bring theatre to audiences across the state. With Fortescue’s increased support, we are excited to expand our community engagement efforts, particularly in the Pilbara, where creative learning opportunities will help inspire the next generation.”
Francois Witbooi, Black Swan Chair

Since Fortescue’s founding in 2003, we have been committed to investing in impactful community development. We value the opportunity to bring theatre to wider audiences, allowing everyone to experience the powerful stories that Black Swan brings to life. The extension of this partnership will enable us to continue to work together on further contributing to the vibrancy of WA’s arts sector.”
